BWI on-time rate 2nd-highest in U.S.
Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport had the second-highest on-time arrival rate in May of the nation's 32 busiest airports, according to data released yesterday by the Department of Transportation. BWI, where arriving flights were on time an average of 86.7 percent of the time in May, ranked second to Salt Lake City, where flights were on-time 88.7 percent of the time. It's a strong improvement over May 2007, when BWI ranked 14th, with an on-time rate of 79. 4 percent.

US Airways expands fees for 'choice' seats
US Airways Group Inc., which next month will begin charging passengers for coffee and sodas, has expanded the number of seats that cost passengers as much as $30 extra to reserve. About 16 percent of seats in coach are now included in the "choice seats" program, double the 8 percent from its May start.
